Biodiversitat i serveis ecosistèmics

Alarmats per la recent pèrdua de biodiversitat, científics dedicats a la conservació de la natura, i cada vegada més responsables polítics han començat a ressaltar els serveis que els ecosistemes proporcionen, com ara: aliments, aigua i aire nets, espais per a esbargir-se i hàbitats per a animals i plantes.

En col·laboració amb un grup d’educadors formals i informals, com ara científics i gestors de boscos i vida salvatge, els estudiants no només aprendran sobre la gestió sostenible dels ecosistemes, sinó que també estudiaran diferents serveis ecosistèmics i el seu valor per al benestar de les societats. Per a això, s’utilitzaran enfocaments d’aprenentatge col·laboratius, basats en problemes i indagacions, juntament amb la Comunitat de Ciència Oberta a Eslovènia. Això busca fomentar la comprensió i apreciació de la diversitat dels serveis ecosistèmics. Aprofitant l’experiència dels socis de MULTIPLIERS, els estudiants aprendran que els serveis ecosistèmics poden competir entre ells i fins i tot si es poden equilibrar, hi pot haver compensacions.
