Ús dels boscos versus protecció forestal

Des de la producció de fusta fins a la conservació de la biodiversitat i la regulació climàtica: els boscos ofereixen una multitud de serveis a la societat.

No obstant això, les demandes o enfocaments cap a serveis particulars poden generar conflictes d’interessos. Per garantir una gestió forestal sostenible, la provisió de valuosos serveis ecosistèmics i el manteniment de la biodiversitat a llarg termini, necessitem basar les nostres decisions en les dades disponibles i el coneixement científic, i considerar els possibles resultats. A MULTIPLIERS, els estudiants interactuaran amb científics, fusters, gestors de conservació de la natura i altres actors rellevants. Es realitzarà una formació pràctica, per exemple, en llocs de demostració anomenats «marteloscopis«, on es pot investigar el valor ecològic i econòmic dels arbres en activitats educatives al bosc. Aquests exemples de la vida real augmentaran el compromís dels estudiants i les seves disposicions / habilitats per discutir temes complexos i els seus compromisos tenint en compte la presa de decisions basada en diferents perspectives com: les econòmiques, ecològiques, culturals i socials sobre els boscos.Tot això busca trobar compromisos i desenvolupar diferents vies d’acció. Aquesta activitat tindrà lloc primer a Suècia i, més endavant, està previst que es dugui a terme a Alemanya.
