Biotska raznovrstnost in ekosistemske storitve

Znanstveniki, naravovarstveniki in vse več oblikovalcev politik so v zadnjem času zaradi izgube biotske raznovrstnosti začeli opozarjati na storitve, ki jih zagotavljajo ekosistemi, npr. hrano, čisto vodo in zrak, prostore za rekreacijo ter habitate za živali in rastline.

V sodelovanju s skupino formalnih in neformalnih izobraževalcev, npr. znanstvenikov in upravljavcev prostoživečih živali, se učenci ne bodo učili le o trajnostnem upravljanju ekosistemov, temveč bodo preučevali tudi različne ekosistemske storitve in njihovo vrednost za blaginjo družbe. Z uporabo sodelovalnih, problemskih in raziskovalnih učnih pristopov, v prvi odprti znanstveni skupnosti v Sloveniji, bodo lahko razumeli in cenili raznolikost ekosistemskih storitev. Na podlagi strokovnega znanja partnerjev projekta MULTIPLIERS se bodo učenci naučili, da lahko ekosistemske storitve med seboj tekmujejo, in tudi če jih je mogoče uravnotežiti, lahko pride do kompromisov.
