Nyttjandet av skogen

Skogar tillhandahåller en mängd tjänster till samhället. Från träproduktion till bevarande av biologisk mångfald, klimatreglering och socialt välbefinnande.

Olika krav eller tonvikt på vissa tjänster kan dock leda till intressekonflikter. För att säkerställa ett hållbart skogsbruk, tillhandahållandet av värdefulla ekosystemtjänster och bevarandet av biologisk mångfald på lång sikt måste vi basera våra beslut på bästa tillgängliga data och vetenskapliga kunskap, och ta hänsyn till potentiellt resulterande kompromisser. I MULTIPLIERS kommer eleverna att samarbeta med forskare, skogsbrukare, naturvårdsförvaltare och andra relevanta aktörer. Praktiska aktiviteter kommer att äga rum, på till exempel demonstrationsplatser, där olika värden kan undersökas och diskuteras i olika undervisningsaktiviteter. Förhoppningen är att öka elevernas engagemang och vilja/förmåga att diskutera komplexa ämnen och avvägningar, att fatta beslut baserat på ekonomiska, ekologiska, kulturella och sociala perspektiv samt att hitta kompromisser och föreslå olika vägar för handling. Denna aktivitet kommer först att äga rum i Sverige och är senare planerad att äga rum i Tyskland.

Šmarna gora, the highest hill in the city of Ljubljana, is now more than an iconic landscape monument and a destination for hikers. With the opening of the first “marteloscope” in central Slovenia, its slopes have been transformed into an outdoor classroom for school pupils thanks to an initiative of the EU-funded research and innovation project MULTIPLIERS.
