Waldnutzung vs. Waldschutz

Von der Holzproduktion über die Erhaltung der biologischen Vielfalt bis hin zur Klimaregulierung: Wälder erbringen eine Vielzahl von Leistungen für die Gesellschaft.

Unterschiedliche Anforderungen oder der Fokus auf bestimmte Leistungen können jedoch zu Interessenkonflikten führen. Um eine nachhaltige Waldbewirtschaftung, die Bereitstellung wertvoller Ökosystemleistungen und die langfristige Erhaltung der biologischen Vielfalt zu gewährleisten, müssen wir unsere Entscheidungen auf die verfügbaren Daten und wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnisse stützen und potenziell entstehende Konflikte berücksichtigen. In MULTIPLIERS arbeiten die Schüler*innen mit Wissenschaftler*innen, Förster*innen, Umweltschützer*innen und anderen relevanten Akteur*innen zusammen. Praxiserfahrungen und Training werden beispielsweise auf so genannten Marteloskop-Flächen ermöglicht, auf denen der ökologische und ökonomische Wert von Bäumen mit speziellen Aufgabenstellungen direkt im Wald untersucht werden kann. Dieses Thema wird zunächst in Schweden bearbeitet und soll künftig auch in Deutschland behandelt werden.

Šmarna gora, the highest hill in the city of Ljubljana, is now more than an iconic landscape monument and a destination for hikers.
