Biologische Vielfalt und Ökosystemleistungen

Alarmiert durch den Verlust der Biodiversität haben Wissenschaftler*innen, Naturschützer*innen und immer mehr politische Entscheidungsträger*innen die Leistungen der Ökosysteme wie z. B. Nahrungsmittel, sauberes Wasser und saubere Luft, Erholungsgebiete und Lebensräume für Tiere und Pflanzen in den öffentlichen Diskurs gebracht.

Gemeinsam mit formalen und informellen Bildungseinrichtungen bzw. Wissenschaftler*innen und Naturpfleger*innen werden die Schüler*innen nicht nur etwas über nachhaltiges Ökosystemmanagement lernen, sondern auch verschiedene Ökosystemleistungen und ihren Wert für das Wohlergehen der Gesellschaft untersuchen. Durch den Einsatz kollaborativer, problem- und forschungsbasierter Bildungsansätze in der Open Science Community in Slowenien sollen die Schüler*innen anschließend die Vielfalt der Ökosystemleistungen verstehen und diese schätzen. Durch die MULTIPLIERS Partner*innen lernen sie, dass Ökosystemleistungen miteinander konkurrieren können, und selbst wenn sie ausgeglichen werden, Kompromisse eingegangen werden müssen.
